Why the Villeroy & Boch Subway 3.0 WC Outperforms Its Competitors in Water Saving & Hygiene

Posted on September 2nd, 2025 Categories Bathrooms, Design, Latest News

When upgrading your bathroom, it’s important to choose a WC that offers more than just sleek design. Today’s households are focused on sustainability, hygiene, and long-lasting quality. That’s exactly why the Villeroy & Boch Subway 3.0 WC is setting new standards.

With TwistFlush, Rimless®, AntiBac, and CeramicPlus technologies, the Subway 3.0 delivers a powerful flush, unbeatable cleanliness, and reduced chemical use – all while saving water every day.

1. TwistFlush: Maximum Cleaning, Minimum Water

Unlike standard WCs that often need multiple flushes, the Subway 3.0’s TwistFlush system uses a targeted, powerful water vortex.

Water saving: Just 4.5 litres for a full flush and 3 litres for a small flush.
Efficient: One flush is almost always enough, reducing waste.
Eco-friendly: Saves thousands of litres annually compared with older or cheaper models.

This technology ensures excellent performance without sacrificing sustainability.

2. Rimless® Technology: Cleaner by Design

Many competitors still use rimmed bowls, which trap dirt and bacteria out of reach. The Subway 3.0’s Rimless® design solves this problem:

No hidden edges: The open design leaves nowhere for germs or deposits to hide.
Easier cleaning: A quick wipe is enough to keep it spotless.
Perfect flush distribution: Combined with TwistFlush, water reaches every part of the bowl for all-round hygiene.

This means fewer chemicals, less scrubbing, and a consistently cleaner WC.

3. AntiBac: Hygiene Built Into the Surface

Chemical cleaners aren’t always effective – and they’re harsh on the environment. With Villeroy & Boch’s AntiBac finish, hygiene is permanent.

Reduces bacteria growth by 99.9%.
Built into the ceramic, so it won’t wear off.
Ideal for family homes and high-use bathrooms.

This gives the Subway 3.0 a clear advantage over competitors that rely only on coatings or manual cleaning.

4. CeramicPlus: Less Limescale, Less Effort

Another standout feature is CeramicPlus, a unique surface treatment that repels water and dirt.

Water beads and runs off instead of leaving marks.
Prevents limescale from building up.
Reduces cleaning chemicals needed by up to 80%.

Combined with Rimless® and AntiBac, it means a fresher, more hygienic toilet with minimal effort.

5. Sustainability Without Compromise

The Subway 3.0 represents the future of bathroom design:

Water efficiency thanks to TwistFlush.
Superior hygiene from Rimless® and AntiBac.
Eco-friendly maintenance with CeramicPlus.
Elegant design that complements any modern bathroom.

It doesn’t just perform better than cheaper alternatives – it’s built to last, save resources, and protect the environment.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Denis and the team were incredibly helpful through the whole process of our kitchen refurbishment. From the initial discussions and call out with Denis, his particular eye for design came through and he made some great suggestions for opening up the space in terms of removing the chimney breast and partitioning out existing pantry which have transformed our kitchen area. Denis was there every step of the way, coming in an checking on the trades, liaising with them while we weren't in the property and project managing it to a very high standard.

The team they used were equally as thoughtful, providing great suggestions and design, with the new flooring throughout the downstairs, it feels like we live in a different house. We would highly recommend By Design to design and spec your kitchen.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our son & daughter-in-law suggested we contact Denis at By Design for our new kitchen, after their successful installation 3 years ago. We are pleased we did, as we are delighted with the result. German manufacture, with lots of neat innovations to make best use of our fairly limited space, and which didn’t stretch our budget. Denis has a wealth of knowledge, guiding us through the design process to a quality kitchen. We are pleased to recommend By Design. Mary & Martin South Cambridge.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. By Design recently designed, supplied and installed our new bathroom. Throughout the entire process, the service we received couldn't have been better. The main reason we chose By Design was the fantastic support we received from Denis. He was with us every step of the way, from exploring various design options to regularly checking in on the fitting progress.

The team responsible for the fitting was extremely courteous and consistently went out of their way to ensure everything was being carried out as expected. They also made a special effort to minimize any disruption to our daily routines.

Thank you for providing such excellent service and for making our bathroom renovation a smooth and pleasant experience.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I'm thrilled with our new bathroom from By Design. The entire experience from the initial design through to completion was excellent. It was so reassuring having Denis managing the project. He'd stop in most days to make sure everything was on track and up to his high standards and to deal with any small issues that cropped up. All of the contractors they worked with were also excellent. The entire project ran smoothly and on time. And the finished room is beautiful! Just what we wanted. We'd definitely use By Design again.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Completely superb job on our bathroom, accomplished in spite of a number of hesitations and changes of mind on our part. Please would you compliment and thank both your own staff and also your various subcontractors? They were thoroughly professional, expert and speedy: and they were also extraordinarily courteous, considerate and careful in their work. Completely beyond our expectations.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. An amazing customer service with the most varied collection in a relative small area.
They offered much lower prices than Cambridge worktops. Would highly recommend.
