More Than Kitchens: Complete Home Interior Design in Cambridge

Posted on January 13th, 2026 Categories Design, Latest News

At By Design Cambridge, we are best known for designing beautifully engineered German kitchens. But modern homes need more than just a great kitchen — they need joined-up interior design that flows seamlessly from room to room.

That’s why we work with leading European manufacturers such as Nobilia, allowing us to design complete home interiors including living rooms, media centres, bedrooms, wardrobes and bathroom furniture — all planned as one coherent space.

If you’re looking for more than a kitchen showroom in Cambridge, you’re in the right place.

Whole-Home Interior Design – One Vision, One Designer

Today’s homes are open, multifunctional and constantly evolving. Designing each room in isolation often leads to mismatched finishes, lost storage opportunities and a home that never quite feels finished.

At By Design, we take a holistic approach to interior design, helping homeowners across Cambridge, Newmarket, Exning and the surrounding areas create spaces that feel:

Thoughtfully planned
Visually consistent
Practical for everyday life
Designed to last

Using Nobilia’s living, storage and bathroom systems, we can carry the same design language throughout your entire home.

Living Rooms & Media Centres Designed Around You

Your living space should be just as carefully designed as your kitchen.

We create bespoke living room furniture and media centres, including:

Floating lowboards and wall-mounted TV units
Integrated cable management for a clean, uncluttered look
Display vitrines with atmospheric LED lighting
Modular shelving systems with open and closed storage

Everything is measured, designed and installed to suit your home — not bought off the shelf.

Bedroom Furniture & Fitted Wardrobes

A well-designed bedroom starts with calm, intelligent storage.

We design made-to-measure bedroom furniture, including:

Fitted wardrobes with internal organisation
Sliding doors and room dividers
Bedside units, dressers and tall storage
Matching finishes shared with your kitchen or living areas

The result is a peaceful, organised space that feels intentional — not pieced together.

Bathroom Furniture That Matches Your Home

Bathrooms no longer need to feel like a separate design decision.

We design high-quality bathroom furniture that complements the rest of your home, including:

Wall-hung vanity units
Moisture-resistant finishes
Integrated storage and mirrored cabinets
Furniture styles that match kitchens and living areas

This creates a far more refined, hotel-style feel — with the durability needed for everyday living.

Why Choose By Design Cambridge?

When you choose By Design, you’re not choosing a typical kitchen retailer. You’re choosing a design-led interior partner.

Our clients value:

One dedicated designer from start to finish
German-engineered furniture systems
Honest, transparent pricing
Long-term design thinking — not trend chasing
A home that feels cohesive, calm and considered

Whether you’re renovating, extending or fitting out a new-build, our approach ensures every space works together beautifully.

More Than Kitchens. Designed for Living.

Yes, we design exceptional kitchens.
But we also design complete interiors — living spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms and storage — planned as one.

If you want your home to feel thoughtfully designed rather than gradually assembled, we’d love to help.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Denis and the team were incredibly helpful through the whole process of our kitchen refurbishment. From the initial discussions and call out with Denis, his particular eye for design came through and he made some great suggestions for opening up the space in terms of removing the chimney breast and partitioning out existing pantry which have transformed our kitchen area. Denis was there every step of the way, coming in an checking on the trades, liaising with them while we weren't in the property and project managing it to a very high standard.

The team they used were equally as thoughtful, providing great suggestions and design, with the new flooring throughout the downstairs, it feels like we live in a different house. We would highly recommend By Design to design and spec your kitchen.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our son & daughter-in-law suggested we contact Denis at By Design for our new kitchen, after their successful installation 3 years ago. We are pleased we did, as we are delighted with the result. German manufacture, with lots of neat innovations to make best use of our fairly limited space, and which didn’t stretch our budget. Denis has a wealth of knowledge, guiding us through the design process to a quality kitchen. We are pleased to recommend By Design. Mary & Martin South Cambridge.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. By Design recently designed, supplied and installed our new bathroom. Throughout the entire process, the service we received couldn't have been better. The main reason we chose By Design was the fantastic support we received from Denis. He was with us every step of the way, from exploring various design options to regularly checking in on the fitting progress.

The team responsible for the fitting was extremely courteous and consistently went out of their way to ensure everything was being carried out as expected. They also made a special effort to minimize any disruption to our daily routines.

Thank you for providing such excellent service and for making our bathroom renovation a smooth and pleasant experience.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had By design completely redo our Kitchen and all bathrooms, both processes were slick and informative, project managed by Denis and or Mark, great set of trades who had pride in their work, 100% satisfaction with both jobs and results would 100 % recommend them for any Kitchens or bathroom projects.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I'm thrilled with our new bathroom from By Design. The entire experience from the initial design through to completion was excellent. It was so reassuring having Denis managing the project. He'd stop in most days to make sure everything was on track and up to his high standards and to deal with any small issues that cropped up. All of the contractors they worked with were also excellent. The entire project ran smoothly and on time. And the finished room is beautiful! Just what we wanted. We'd definitely use By Design again.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Completely superb job on our bathroom, accomplished in spite of a number of hesitations and changes of mind on our part. Please would you compliment and thank both your own staff and also your various subcontractors? They were thoroughly professional, expert and speedy: and they were also extraordinarily courteous, considerate and careful in their work. Completely beyond our expectations.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. An amazing customer service with the most varied collection in a relative small area.
They offered much lower prices than Cambridge worktops. Would highly recommend.
